Quick Facts
Profile
Dr.Anon is a Japanese vocal project formed by e5, killwiz, and 嚩ᴴᴬᴷᵁ. Emerging from Japan’s internet-driven underground music scene, the trio has developed a sound that refuses to sit comfortably within a single genre, moving between alternative rap, hyperpop, experimental pop and electronic music.
The three artists bring distinctly different personalities and approaches to the project. Their music is often built around distorted textures, unconventional production and an intentionally unpredictable atmosphere, making Dr.Anon one of the more difficult acts to neatly categorize within Japan’s current underground scene.
After years of activity, Dr.Anon disbanded at the end of 2023, with its members continuing to pursue their own creative paths. The project, however, proved difficult to leave in the past: in 2026, e5, killwiz and 嚩ᴴᴬᴷᵁ reunited to create new music together.
Their reunion resulted in second opinion, a six-track EP released on August 26, 2026. Rather than simply recreating the sound of their earlier work, the project documents where the three artists are now, incorporating contributions from producers including BENXNI, VLOT, krynX, hirihiri, nekoRB, Dynox and waera.
For listeners discovering Japan’s alternative and internet music scenes, Dr.Anon offers a particularly interesting entry point: a project that existed before the current wave of hyperpop and experimental rap fully took shape, disappeared, and has now returned with a new perspective.
